Dr. Heather Bluemel is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist who grew up on the East End of Long Island. She went to undergrad at Boston University with the idea of continuing onto law school. After graduating she moved into NYC where she began working for a major law firm and then in the Compliance department of Pfizer. While immersed in learning about the different pharmaceuticals that Pfizer produced she became interested in different forms of healing.
While working at Pfizer, she completed the year long program from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and while she found it interesting, wanted to pursue a more comprehensive education in alternative health. In 2012 she decided to leave her position and take the opportunity to travel throughout New Zealand, Australia and Southeast Asia where she learned about the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. After graduation from her Master’s Program in 2017 including internships at the VA Hospital, NYU Hospital and MT Sinai Cancer Center she began a private practice in Manhattan. In 2019 Heather completed her doctoral program and later in the year became a mom. She decided to move back to the area where she grew up to be close to her family and now has a private practice in Speonk.
